Terms of use
Last updated: October 2026.
By using Mechanism Lab (the site at mechanisms-lab.com and the app on it) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Educational use only
Mechanism Lab is a teaching aid. The mechanisms, explanations and predictions are simplified and may contain errors or omissions. They are not a substitute for a textbook, a teacher, a safety data sheet or professional judgement, and must not be relied on to plan or carry out laboratory work. Real reactions depend on conditions, substituents and competing pathways that a short drawing cannot show.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site.
Acceptable use
Please do not try to disrupt the site, scrape it at a rate that affects other users, or use it to break the law. Using the site for study, teaching and personal learning is welcome.
Content and copying
The text, drawings, quiz questions and software on this site are the work of Mechanism Lab. You may link to any page and quote short extracts with attribution. Teachers may use pages in class and in course notes with a link back. Please do not republish the library in bulk or present it as your own. Names of reactions, reagents and chemical structures are facts and are not owned by anyone.
Advertising and links
The site may display third-party advertising and may link to other websites. We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content. See the privacy policy.
Changes
We may update these terms, and the date above will change when we do. Continued use means you accept the current version.
